Michael J. Schwartz - Attorney at Law

Michael J. Schwartz

Mr. Schwartz was born in New York City on October 22, 1955. He grew up in Massachusetts and attended McGill University in Montreal, Canada, receiving his B.A. in 1977, Magna Cum Laude and as a University Scholar. He attended University of Miami School of Law, earned his J.D. in 1981, and was admitted to the Florida Bar on January 21, 1982. He was admitted to the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, that same year, and to the U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit, in 1983. Prior to entering into private practice, Mr. Schwartz was a law clerk for the Honorable Joseph Nesbitt of the District Court of Appeal for the Third District of Florida.

Mr. Schwartz has extensive trial experience in personal injury and insurance defense, as well as construction defect, premises, motor vehicle and product liability cases. He has defended countless nursing home negligence cases from notice of intent to conclusion. He has defended class actions. He has tried numerous cases to verdict in several Florida counties. He also handles coverage and appellate matters. Mr. Schwartz is A/V rated, the highest designation accorded attorneys by Martindale-Hubbell.

Scott D. Kirschbaum

Mr. Kirschbaum was born in New York on May 13, 1967. He grew up and attended school in New York City and Long Island until he moved to South Florida in 1985. He received a B.S., with honors, from Nova Southeastern University in 1989. He attended St. Thomas University School of Law, where he was also on Law Review. He received his J.D., with honors, in 1992 and was admitted to The Florida Bar on September 28, 1992. He was admitted to the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, also in 1992 and to the U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit, in 1993.

Mr. Kirschbaum has extensive trial experience in the personal injury and insurance defense fields, including medical malpractice, professional liability, first party health care, general and premises liability, motor vehicle, products liability and coverage cases. He has taken many cases to verdict in trial courts throughout the State of Florida. He has also practiced extensively in federal court litigating ERISA matters nationwide.
Kelly L. Casey - Attorney at Law

Kelly L. Casey

Ms. Casey was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended the Pennsylvania State University, receiving a B.A. in psychology and a B.A. in speech communication in 2006. She moved to South Florida in 2007 and attended the University of Miami School of Law, where she served as the Executive Vice President of the Moot Court Board. In 2009, Ms. Casey was the overall winner and best brief winner of the George Washington University National Security Law Moot Court Competition. In 2010, Ms. Casey participated in the National Moot Court Championship. In addition to her activities with the Moot Court Board, Ms. Casey was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal honor society, a student attorney for the University of Miami Children and Youth Law Clinic, and an intern for U.S. Magistrate Judge John O'Sullivan of the Southern District of Florida. She received her J.D., cum laude, and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2010. She was admitted to the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida in 2011, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida in 2012.

Ms. Casey has experience in personal injury and insurance defense, including medical malpractice, general and premises liability, motor vehicle and products liability cases. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Casey practiced at an AV-rated firm specializing in insurance defense litigation and medical malpractice defense matters.
